In honor of Mother’s Day, this week’s theme is “Mother.” So here is my mother (and my baby)
I have 2 completely random photos for this week. One I took today at the San Diego Safari Park on a field trip with my class. I don’t know if this elephant is actually the mother to either of the little guys but I was completely in a trance watching all of these little ones play and rough house with the adults. I love seeing mamas take the time to get dirty with their kids. <3
My second photo is for my mother. I love her more than words can say. She is my best friend. We work together and play together. She gave me a love for shopping and sales and I helped get her hooked on Starbucks. All she wanted from her photographer daughters was a portrait of her family. Of all 4 of her kids in one shot. Easier said than done! But we dragged out the tripod, forced everyone to sit still in the cold and granted Mom’s wish last Thanksgiving. So this is not a new shot but this week seemed like a good day to post a shot that Mom wanted. Because she did an amazing job raising us. And she still does. Happy Mother’s Day to our Mom! <3

“I love seeing mamas take the time to get dirty with their kids” hahaha.. me too! i love these… how neat to have a wonderful mama in your lives, how blessed so is to have two wonderful photographer daughters to take a family photo that she wanted so much. I get it, I totally get that. I will be doing to same when I get back to NZ. Happy Mothers day to you both… and L…’mothering doesnt just come via birthing’ hugs

i love elephants…especially baby elephants, so that picture drew me in quickly. such a sweet + tender display of affection. but i so adore the photos of family as well…this week has been such a powerful reminder for me to photograph more of my own.
