Project 52- Week 48 (Almost There!): Your Shoes

Shoes. I have a sign on my wall that says “Shoe Collector”. I was awarded the title of “Best Shoes” among the staff at the school I teach at for 4 years until I retired my heels to wear flip flops and tennis shoes (a class of all boys will do that to ya!). I love shoes. They always fit, even on “fat days”. The can make you feel better when you just a little blue. Walking down the aisles of a good shoe store is better than actual therapy. I love shoes.

These days I wear a lot of shoes. I wear teacher shoes, photographer shoes, work out shoes, relaxing shoes…. I fill a lot of roles and there is a perfect pair of shoes for every job! On any given day here are the shoes I fill:

But let’s be real, these are more like “Back to School Night” shoes, not every day running around teacher shoes!;)

If I have to sweat, my shoes need to be cute and pink! <3

Because an all-star needs her all-stars!

<3 My yogi toes are a hot pink reminder of many things. This week when I look at them I remember giggling over pedicures with my dear friend Gail who made sure to visit me on a road trip with her family. I’m not sure how I rate compared to San Diego and the Grand Canyon but I sure enjoyed their visit!

Now check out the shoes that are filled by the other amazing photographers that have made it this far on our 52 week journey starting with Orlando baby photographer – Sari Underwood

I’m right there with you when it comes to shoes – you can make any outfit look good if you’ve got the right shoes. I love your back to school night shoes – very cool. And you doesn’t love an awesome pair of Chuck Taylors?

Project 52 Week 47 {With Thanks}

Here we are again! Project 52 is quickly coming to a close (thankfully!). So when both of twins are generally armed with cameras, it would seem like our family should have fabulous family portraits every year, right?! Wrong! There is only so much that you can do with a self timer, tripod, 10 minutes before dinner and a bunch of us! But last year we started a new tradition (at Mom’s gentle persuading…) of setting up the tripod and shooting a family portrait of the entire crew. This year things started to go wrong! We left the dogs at home so already, they are missing. Then I couldn’t find the base for the tripod. And the other twin was apparently missing hers as well. No biggie, rig up a stand for the expensive camera on a lawn chair, a bucket and those foam knee pad things that use in gardening… oh wait, what’s that? You forgot how to set the timer?! It is freezing and no one wants to stay outside while you figure it out?! Time for Plan B. Mom’s point and shoot. *gasp!* Yes my photographer heart skipped a few beats but alas, we were all there, standing in the cold, looking as good as we were gonna get so here it is (with thanks!): Our 2011 Thanksgiving Portrait!

Now be sure to see what the rest of the group has for ya, starting with Cynthia Crane Photography!

Project 52 (minus a few) Week 46| From your phone

After a few weeks away, a theme popped up that I couldn’t resist! Since it has been so long, here is a recap: I joined a group of photographers at the start of the year for a project that didn’t seem so difficult at the time… each week we tackle a theme and check out each other’s take! So be sure to follow the circle and check out what my photographer friends are able to get from their phones!

My droid takes dreadful photos but sometimes you can’t beat the convenience of a cell phone camera, no matter how painful it is to your photographer eye!;)

I posted this on facebook so some of you may have seen it but it is easily my favorite cell phone photo today… You know you might spend too much time (and money!) at Starbucks when your first Christmas card is handed to you at the drive-thru… where they recognize you by your order…

Happy Holidays indeed! Now be sure to check out Andrea of Photography by KISS- Lexington, KY Photographer

The Kerr Family – Simi Valley Family Photographer

I love it when I get to take photos for a family over and over again. I love seeing the kids grow and learning the tricks to make them smile. I took Sadie’s newborn pics last year and she was the sweetest, sleepiest newborn ever. Now she’s a wild toddler who loves to play in the dirt – completely opposite from big sister Sam. Sam, on the other hand, is the same princess she’s always been. She spent the day telling me about how she’s going to be a pageant girl (Halloween constume) and practicing her pageant wave. She has it down. Kelly, I think you should probably consider finding a pageant for her, I think she’s got a shot of winning!
